LinkedIn desktop, is that you? You’re looking extra beautiful! LinkedIn has been teasing us for weeks, but the professional social media platform finally shared its new desktop look. The update brings content to the center of the page that includes and highlights conversations and opportunities. LinkedIn noted that this is so that users can share their thoughts, join in discussions that are taking place or discover prevalent updates right away.

Open your LinkedIn account and let’s take a look at their latest adjustments.

Efficient Navigation Bar – The navigation bar now has seven core elements: Home, Messaging, Jobs, Notifications, Me, My Network and Search. The “more” button on the bar allows you to explore other services on LinkedIn, such as LinkedIn Learning. LinkedIn describes this service as, “an online platform enabling individuals and organizations to achieve their objectives and aspirations.”

Updated Algorithm – Your LinkedIn Feed will display the most relevant content to you, including posts and articles from people and publishers in your network. The latest Feed works on an algorithm and is also based on data collected by human editors, according to the popular platform. Be sure to interact with those you follow and share articles of your own to make sure you’re getting the most out of your account.

Better Search – In just a single search box you can find people, companies, jobs, groups and schools. On the right-hand side, you have the ability to narrow your search with the variety of filter options. LinkedIn promises a continual evolution of search so that the experience is constantly improved. Use the search to find prospective employees or to discover and join groups in your field of expertise.

Encouraging Suggestions – Is your profile feeling stale? Well, LinkedIn is helping you out. Their profile suggestions will assist you in making your profile look better than before. For example, the platform will suggest certain skills based on those being sought by recruiters. You can update and adjust your profile accordingly to these valuable suggestions.

If you haven’t logged on to your LinkedIn in a while, now is the time. Familiarize yourself with these updates and get back to networking, interacting and sharing your company information. Once your personal LinkedIn page is shiny and new, learn how to grow your Company page next.
