How to Launch a Marketing Campaign that Gets Results

3.96 billion people are active on social media. This gives businesses a great advantage to reach their ideal customers through their marketing campaigns. Running social media marketing campaigns on top channels like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and even TikTok can help your business turn more users into loyal customers for less of your budget. But before you launch your campaigns, it’s crucial that you take care of several things behind the scenes first to ensure the success of your marketing efforts.

1. Establish a Clear Goal

The first thing to decide in your marketing campaign is what is your goal. Are you looking to gain more customers through purchases or consultations? Or, are you focused more on awareness and are hoping to have more people interact with your content? The goal of your social media marketing should align with the overall goal of your business. Clearly defining this upfront and deciding on measurable KPI metrics such as the number of purchases, form fills, or even likes will help you get the best results for your campaigns.

2. Create a Timeline

The next step in your planning process is to create a timeline. This timeline should include when you plan to launch your marketing campaign and what you need to accomplish to meet that date. Tasks like designing digital collateral, building landing pages that convert, and creating content should be on that timeline. It’s important to decide on a timeline that you can actually meet long before you make the announcement of your lauch to your audiences. The last thing you want to find out a week before your launch is that you are missing all of your major assets.

3. Select Your Social Channels

One of the largest parts of your marketing strategy is defining where you will share your campaign. Will you be sticking to the top three social media platforms? Or, will you expand your marketing campaign to other channels such as YouTube or Google? Start with outlining who your ideal audience is and where they hang out. For example, if your ideal customer is 18 – 21, Tik Tok may be a great place for your business. If your audience steers more in the 32 – 45 age range, you should instead look at Facebook. Don’t just choose a channel because it’s popular. The most important part of any social media campaign is to deliver your content and ads to the right people.

4. Launch Your Campaign

Once you’ve got all of your assets in order and created a fool-proof strategy, you’re ready to launch your campaign! Be prepared to answer customer issues or questions on your launch date. If this campaign is associated with a big sale, have several team members available to make sure the initiation launch goes smoothly. If hiccups happen, that’s okay. Keep a close eye on your campaign for the first few days of the launch and be ready to make adjustments as needed.

The success of marketing campaigns are decided long before the official launch of a sale or promotion. Getting the pieces together behind the scenes will give you the best chance at getting ideal results for your efforts.
