Instagram Stories is continuing to step up its game. With a goal to increase users’ engagement, Instagram is allowing users to do more within Stories. You can now tag other Instagram users, add links and use Boomerang for your stories. How do you get the most out of Stories? Don’t worry! We’re sharing the information you need to know about the recent updates from the popular photo-sharing app.
In photo tagging, when someone tags your profile you receive a notification. In Stories, things work a little differently. When someone tags you in Stories, Instagram sends you a direct message. The tag will also be clickable so that viewers can check out the tagged profile.
Another exciting feature, especially for businesses, is the ability to link web pages in Story posts. This is only for verified accounts since it is still undergoing testing, but that may change in the future. Linking web pages in stories could be huge for businesses on Instagram, as their stories can feature a product demonstration with a link for users to purchase.
You may be used to seeing friends upload Boomerang videos into their Instagram posts, but now you’ll be seeing them in Stories too. Instagram has incorporated the Boomerang app directly in Stories making it simple to post a one-second video. Unlike posting a Boomerang as a post, on Stories you will have the ability to switch a Boomerang video between the front and rear-facing camera. You can even capture a shorter clip if desired.
