The more hashtags you use the more your post can be seen by new people, so it can be easy to get carried away. Hashtags are going to be more valuable for you on Instagram and Twitter than Facebook and LinkedIn because they’re used more often. But this doesn’t mean you should go hashtag-happy. It’s not aesthetically pleasing, and it can turn people off from reading your content. Figure out which hashtags are most related to your content and brand, and stick to them. If you’re just starting out on Instagram, try hiding your hashtags in the comments section so it doesn’t interfere with your post.
Don’t Abuse The Tagging or Location Feature
When posting, you always want to be relevant and present content that makes sense to build trust with your audience. Tagging people or other businesses on social can give you a little boost in reach, so we encourage you to take advantage of this feature—but only when it’s relevant. If you’re tagging someone or an organization to tell them to check out your content or just for the heck of it, you risk losing credibility with your audience.

It’s called social media for a reason. Be sure to always respond to comments and messages left on your page as soon as possible. Followers appreciate when a brand acknowledges their efforts to engage and addresses their concerns or questions. You also want to engage and drum up some conversation outside of your page. Liking and commenting on posts can help expand your brand presence on any platform. Getting involved in Facebook Groups is also a great way to get your brand in front of new people.
