Facebook’s Messenger Lite Keeps The World Connected One Device At A Time

Facebook is expanding its international footprint growing with the latest addition of Messenger Lite.  Billed by some as a stripped own version of its popular messaging service, Lite will require less data and is designed to work in areas where Internet service is scarce.

The platform is testing the service in parts of Asia and is offered on both iOS and Android devices. This is not the first time the social media giant has made an effort to offer technological advancements to emerging markets around the world.

Earlier this year, Facebook launched Lite in India, a major market crippled by slow connection speeds. Lite performed well, delivering a reliable connection for families and business to stay connected across the world.

Shopping Made Easier Thanks To Instagram

Instagram is expanding its features and brand services with its latest shoppable photos feature. The Facebook-owned video and photo sharing platform will now allow users to identify products in photos and shop directly from their timelines!

Although the launch is currently just a test, major retailers are jumping at the opportunity to have their products showcased to the platform’s 500 million users.

20 U.S. retailers, including Jack Threads and Kate Spade, have signed on for the initial rollout, aimed at targeting a younger generation of millennials whose tech savvy experience will have an edge when compared to other demographics.

Who wouldn’t love to purchase that must-have seasonal handbag or pair of shoes with the swipe of your finger?

There’s no word on whether or not Instagram will roll this highly anticipated updated to the masses, but chances are you may be seeing it on your timeline feed very soon!
