How To Set Up Your Instagram Business Page

This week, we’re giving you the tools you need to convert your Instagram into a business account to maximize your marketing efforts. While your website is the hub for your company’s online identity, your Instagram business account will be a great place to market your brand with photos where customers and readers can learn about and interact with your brand’s content. Here are three easy steps to getting your business started on Instagram:

Step 1: Switch to Business Profile

You are going to start on your Instagram profile and select the hamburger menu in the upper right-hand corner. Then, you are going to select ‘Settings’ at the bottom of the drop-down menu. From there, you will choose the ‘Account’ icon, and then you will see that you can “Switch to Business Profile” at the bottom of the page.

Step 2: Connect Your Facebook Page

Once you navigate to get an Instagram business account, you will be prompted to connect it to a Facebook page and select a ‘Page Category.’ The options include suggestions of a Local Business, Personal Blog, Product/Service, Art, Musician/Band, Shopping & Retail, Health/Beauty, Grocery Store. You can additionally search for terms regarding specific industries.

Step 3: Manage Your Account Info

As your page should officially be switched over to a business profile, you will want to review the new contact information section that will appear below your original bio. This will include a ‘Call’ and ‘Email’ button for your followers to easily contact you. If for some reason you want to change this information at any time, you have the option to do so when you select “Edit Profile’ in the business section. You even have additional options for adding a texting option or removing the phone altogether.

Instagram is growing in popularity among the different social media channels so if you have yet to create a page for your business now is the time to invest in this platform.

Social media has a 100% higher lead-to-close rate than outbound marketing.
