A Los Angeles woman proves that Twitter can be used to fight crime. Alex Thompson, a 45-year-old entrepreneur from Venice Beach, Calif., is well-versed in the practice. Two years ago, she launched a Twitter account called Venice311 to tweet about crimes in her neighborhood.
