Instagram users can now send private photos and videos with messages to up to 15 of their friends, the photo-sharing app announced at a press event in New York. Previously, all photos and videos that users posted were public unless their profile was set to private. Called Instagram Direct, the new capability takes on fellow photo-sharing app Snapchat, and Twitter, which yesterday announced that its private direct messaging feature now supports sending and receiving images. As first announced by Jon Loomer, Facebook has simplified its page post scheduling and added a notification for page admins when a post is scheduled. Facebook has also given page owners the ability to drag-and-drop photos when they upload, much like the capability available for users. These changes are improvements upon current features and will make it easier for page admins to perform tasks quicker. Facebook notes that it has simplified the page post scheduling process from 12 steps to 4.
