Prior to the change, when you wanted to shop an Instagram Story, you would swipe up to the page linked by the brand. Now the ability to tag products with stickers makes it easier than ever. With the stickers, brands can customize the colors to match their video or photos. That’s not all, with one tap of the sticker, you will be directed to the details page on the merchant’s site.
Instagram also provides analytics to business owners on the number of taps received on the shopping stickers used. Speaking of algorithms, Instagram is also going to start sharing stories from brands with users who may be more inclined to shop the story when they see it.
