Content Creation: Bringing The Right Pieces TogetherCreating content is a lot like being a modern-day MacGyver. You may not use a safety pin, a stick of gum, and a watch to get out of a sticky situation, but you do have to scrape together various pieces of content. Whether you’re just starting out or you need some new ideas, here are three types of content that you can easily incorporate into your social media calendar.

Original Content

This type may be obvious, but it’s one of the most important. Creating your own content is where you’re going to make your products really shine. By being in control of every creative element, you’re able to portray your brand exactly how you want to. From vibe to design, these are the photos that will speak volumes about your business and will ultimately tie everything together. You can do product shots, lifestyle photos, flat lays, videos, and much more. You’ll also be able to use this type of content in more than one place, especially since it will involve your brand’s product. From your social media and website to your newsletter and blog, original content has a lot of versatility.

Third Party Content

Utilizing other people’s photos, when relevant, is a great way to increase brand awareness, support other creatives, and build rapport. You can use anything from a photo that someone tagged your product into pulling a photo from someone’s feed that inspires you. However, in every circumstance, always make sure to give credit where credit is due. Not only is it proper social media etiquette, but it will also connect you with that person and their followers. When you tag them, they’ll automatically be notified that their content was used which means one more set of eyeballs has been exposed to your business. It will also show up in their tagged photos where anyone on social media could find it and stumble across your brand that way as well.

Graphics

Graphics swing both ways. You can either create your own or find third-party content that fits well with your brand. This type of content helps bring something different to the visual mix and has the added bonus of being easy for people to share. It’s also a great way to promote your brand’s values, personality, and point of view. Whether you want your graphic to be informational (info-graphic) or inspirational (phrase or quote), be sure that your graphics are visually appealing and evoke some type of emotion.

Just remember, creating content may take time, but it’s a creative process that’s well worth the result.
