May 2023 marks the one-year workiversaries for two KWSM team members: our Project Manager Alli Knight, and Web Designer Melanie Graham! These two ladies are prime examples of KWSM’s core values and A-player performance.
I’ve had the pleasure of working with both Alli and Melanie in the past year. With each project we collaborate on, I’m consistently impressed by their attention to detail, commitment to excellence, and uncommon organization.
Let’s Take A Look At Their Journeys On The KWSM Team
As professional storytellers, we believe that the best way for you to get to know the people behind the screen is to hear their stories. Here’s a little bit about Alli and Melanie.
Alli Knight: A Dawg Rising To The Top
Aside from her can-do attitude, contagiously positive energy, and formidable sense of humor, one of the best things about Alli is her alma mater (though, I’m biased…). Alli brings our University of Georgia Bulldog tenacity to every project she’s involved in. #DawgsOnTop
After graduating from UGA in 2021 and getting some hands-on project management experience, Alli joined the KWSM team as our Junior Project Manager in May of 2022. She has continued to demonstrate a fiery spirit and knack for organization every day since then by keeping our creative teams on track. She even earned a promotion to Project Manager this past April!
“I’m proud of all the projects the web and strategy teams have completed that I’ve been a part of,” Alli shares. “I am also proud of the way my work ethic and emotional intelligence have evolved since my first day at KWSM, which has pushed me to accomplish more than I thought I was capable of a year ago. None of it would’ve been possible without the support of our team and the encouragement from leadership.”
Melanie Graham: An Eye For Design And A Heart For Adventure
Melanie is a Costa Mesa, Cali girl who practically “lives” at the beach with her two boys. When she’s not at work, you can find her longboarding and belly boarding while her sons surf, playing pickleball, or riding her bike. Her zest for life is obvious in her spirit and in her presence at work.
Melanie was good at drawing from a young age and she always knew she wanted to do something with art – from hand lettering to typography, to her focus on digital design. As a freelancer, she also started doing illustrations and making patterns/prints for clothing. This passion for turning her creative inspiration into reality is a beautiful trait that all of us at KWSM admire.
After being a graphic designer for many years, Melanie recognized that she wanted to grow in knowledge about web design, SEO, user experience (UX), accessibility, and Adobe XD, so she joined KWSM’s part-time employee program in May of 2022. We have all had the pleasure of watching her grow in her skillset and professional development since then.
“In the past year, I’m most proud of the websites I worked on that I really felt displayed who the clients are and what their brands stand for,” Melanie says. “In life overall, I am most proud of my boys! They are rockstars and they surprise me every day with their accomplishments. They are also just super fun, they’re my favorite people in the world.”
