IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:
Facebook announced an experimental service called Say Thanks, which lets its users send personalized video cards to friends. To customize the video, Say Thanks lets users choose a theme, photos and posts before sharing it with a message on sender and receiver’s timelines.
YouTube is introducing a new music subscription service called YouTube Music Key. For $9.99 a month, the new service will boast full album streams and offline listening, in addition to Google Play Music access. The service is by invite only, but users can get sent an invitation by request. Those with invites will be offered a free six-month trial and continued use at the promotional monthly price of $7.99.
According to Twitter’s CEO, big changes are coming for the social network’s users this next quarter. Private messaging will be overhauled, but the most buzz from his announcement came from the option for pre-populating the timelines of new users. The goal will be to get new users actively involved sooner and more consistently by removing the daunting task of finding people to follow.
