Getting customers and clients talking on Facebook can be a challenge, especially when you’re not monetizing your content. We recently discussed Facebook’s latest change to their newsfeed, which affect’s the organic reach of business pages. Unfortunately, a decline in reach can often lead to a decline in engagement. It’s the domino effect—fewerpeople seeing your content means there are fewer people talking about your content.
Now, there’s no need to panic. There are a few ways to still get people talking on your page. Authentic content, mixed with a splash of creativity and a sprinkle of thought leadership creates the perfect recipe for your brands online content. This is just your foundation. Now, let’s dive into how to get your audience more engaged.
Thought-Provoking Content
If you present quality content containing information that your audience is genuinely interested in, many people will not only click to read, but they will also form an opinion. Unfortunately, not everyone thinks to share that opinion unless they’re prompted to do so. That’s where you come in. Don’t shy away from asking your audience questions like, ‘what are your thoughts,’ ‘do you agree,’ or ‘how does this make you feel?’
When is Your Audience Online?
There’s no need to play the guessing game. Facebook actually tells you when your most engaged audience is active on the platform. Just click the Insights button in the top bar of your business page. Then click on posts, which you can find in the menu listed on the left. That page will show a graph marked “TIMES” that displays how many of your followers are on Facebook throughout the day. Many audiences are different so these numbers can vary for every business page.
Let Them Ask You
Hosting a Q&A session is a great way to show off your expertise while hearing from your customers. Let them know that you will be on FB Live to answer all their questions about a chosen topic. You can encourage them to send questions anonymously through messenger or post comments and answer them live on your feed. Facebook loves video and even better, they love when you use their platform to produce your videos. So going live means their pushing your video out for more people to see. It’s a win-win!
