How to Get More Engagement on Your Social Media Content

How to Get More Engagement on Your Social Media ContentIf you’re creating a substantial amount of content for your company’s social media channels, you may have gotten into the habit of posting the same type of content each week. If you fall into a repetitive pattern, your followers could become less interested in engaging with your posts. Here are some things to think about when creating a content calendar for your business each week:

Share an Array of Blog Posts

Your business should be blogging regularly and publishing those blogs on your website for consumers to find in search. Each week, you should post the most recent blog on social media, but you should also include some additional posts to highlight older content. As long as your blog posts are updated, you can continue to share them every so often. Sharing different blogs each week will provide followers with a variety of topics to read about and highlight your company’s knowledge of the industry.

Use Different Hashtags

Hashtags are a great tool to help users find content that they are interested in when scrolling through social media. If your business is using the same hashtags in each post, but you aren’t seeing the results you were hoping for, try something different. Use a variation of the words you are currently using in a hashtag to and see if the engagement increases on those posts. You can hashtag any word, so each week you can try something new.

Show Behind-the-Scenes Footage

Users love to see exclusive content that shows the company’s employees or work environment. Have employees submit photos of themselves at work and make a post that shows some personality. If you’re constantly trying to sell your goods or services, users will become bored with your posts. Try incorporating photos and captions that humanize your business with behind-the-scenes content.

When you get in the habit of posting similar content each week users will see no benefit in following your accounts and you may see a decrease in followers. Mixing up the hashtags you use and the blogs you promote gives users a better chance of finding your account and increases their willingness to engage. A good variety of posts and showing some additional personality in your content will improve your traction on social media.
