Reopenings are underway for Las Vegas restaurants, but there are strict guidelines that must be followed for a restaurant to welcome back patrons. Governor Sisolak announced that dine-in restaurants could reopen on May 9th during the first phase of the “Road to Recovery” plan.
The new rules include: spacing tables six feet apart, reduced seating capacity, and no seating in bar areas. With restrictions in place, reopening your eating establishment may be a challenge, but it is not impossible.
If you want to stay open, follow these tips to help your Las Vegas restaurant business reopen during COVID-19.
Implement Single-Use Items
One way for restaurant owners to keep patrons safe is to institute single-use items for customers. While dishwashers may sanitize plates and cutlery, many eateries will decide to use disposable utensils instead. Some restaurants are even making the change to single-use menus, using large menu boards, and even QR codes.
Protect Employees’ Health
Ensure that you are taking care of your employees by providing masks for them to wear during work hours. Be sure to encourage or require customers to use masks whenever possible during their meal to protect themselves and your employees. Instill a rigorous hand-washing policy, as well as adding hand sanitizer to host stations or by registers to help against spreading germs. Another way to stop the spread of germs is to institute card-only payments to avoid handling cash.
Set Expectations Early
Creating expectations for your customers can help your business transition successfully as restrictions are lifted over time. Until then, reassure your customers with a clear strategy for safety procedures and reopening protocols. Setting expectations can improve the experience for your customers, who may be uneasy about venturing back out after quarantine.
Reopening your restaurant is just the first step in post-pandemic recovery.
