Pinterest Announces Story Pins

Pinterest is tapping into social media trends by adding their own version of stories, known as Story Pins. These are a new type of pin that allows creators to tell visual stories with video, images, voiceover, and text overlay.

The biggest difference between the Pinterest Stories feed and the Story Pins is that the Story Pins remain within a pin and don’t disappear after 24 hours.

Pinterest states that “Story Pins can be saved to boards for later and will be discoverable over time. They’ll also be distributed across home feed, search results and places like the Today tab, and benefit from the visual discovery engine that matches new ideas to people with relevant interests and tastes.”

Google Adds New Search Listing Options

To help businesses showcase to their audiences how they’re catering to changing customer needs and behaviors as a result of COVID-19, the platform has shared new options for listings on Google My Business.

These display options include service offerings such as curbside pick-up in ads, additional tags that can be added to business listings, and changes to business hours as a result of COVID-19 impacts.

To make these changes, businesses will log into Google My Business and update the relevant fields in their business profile options.

Facebook Launches Facebook Business Suite

Facebook has launched Facebook Business Suite, a new management platform that gives users the ability to manage their Facebook and Instagram presences from a single platform.

Instead of using Pages Manager or Creator Studio, Facebook states that Facebook Business Suite enables users to:

  • Save time – Post to Facebook and Instagram at the same time and manage posts in one place to stay connected to both communities.
  • Stay up-to-date – Receive Facebook and Instagram messages, notifications, and alerts in one place to stay up to date and respond to customers more easily.
  • Business results –  See what’s working with Facebook and Instagram insights and learn what customers are looking for.
