How TikTok Could Help Your Small Business GrowThere’s no denying that the social platform TikTok has created some serious buzz in the last year. The short videos keep users engaged and sometimes even scrolling on the app for hours at a time. Some businesses have even managed to get some publicity from the app by creating content of their own or hiring influencers on the app to feature their products. Although the app has worked for some businesses, it is not recommended that all businesses create a TikTok account. You could be wasting your efforts on the app if your business is not suited for the type of content that’s successful on TikTok. If you believe that your company is ready and able to be on TikTok, here are some types of content you can create on the app.

Educate Users

One of the most popular types of videos on TikTok are the ones that have a fun yet educational aspect. The app is great for telling users about your business, using short lessons that show how your product or service works.. If your business has a multitude of products or services, you can feature a new one every week to always keep the content new and users engaged. By reading through some of your comments, you can find common questions and develop ideas for new videos. You can also engage with your audience directly by asking questions. If one of your previously posted videos has been receiving the same question, reply to one of the comments with a video to answer the question.

Hop on TikTok Trends

TikTok is full of trending dances, but dancing isn’t the only trend you can take part in on the app. Depending on what industry you are in there are trends that have nothing to do with dancing that you can take part in. Music is a huge part of TikTok, but with new plans for restricting how businesses are allowed to use music on TikTok, you’ll have to be careful to avoid licensing issues. Your team will have to get creative with how you could tie a trend back into your products or services, some trends are easier to work with than others. If your company can’t relate the trend to something you sell, maybe you can use the opportunity to show some of your company culture instead.

Create Original Content

To go viral on TikTok, you don’t have to follow what everyone else is doing. You can come up with original ideas and still be able to connect with your audience on the platform. Depending on your business, this will look different for every account. All of your marketing videos shouldn’t be about selling your products. Videos should also include some behind-the-scenes footage of your team working together because it shows that real people are behind the TikTok account. You should use the account to show some personality and have some fun creating short videos for social media.

If your business is thinking about creating a TikTok account, you should first take a look at some of the videos on the platform. Creating an account just because you know the app has become popular is not a good idea. You have to have a team that’s willing to help you create content and show the company culture. If you have support from your teammates and you think your business could be successful on TikTok, start creating marketing videos to go along with trends or popular songs on the app. Have some fun with the videos to really show your company’s brand.
