Are you thinking about going live on your business’ social media platforms? Interacting with your customers on social media is a great way to create a sense of brand loyalty. Live streaming is easy and not as scary as you might think. Here are a few ways to get you prepared to host the best live stream: 

Get the Word Out

To have a large number of people tuning in, your followers will need to know in advance that you’ll be live streaming. Advertising your upcoming live stream will increase awareness and attract new audiences. When you are cross-promoting, make sure to include when your live stream will happen, and a valuable piece of information about what will be covered in the live stream.

Plan Ahead

You’ll want to make an agenda for your live stream in advance. The agenda will be used to keep you – the host – organized in the days leading up to the event. Make sure you know where you’ll be setting up your device and have any materials you will present during the live stream ready to go. Creating a list of talking points will also be an essential part of the preparation. You’ll want to be cool, calm, and collected during your live stream – having a good idea of what you’ll be talking about will help! Are you launching a new product that you can tell everyone more about? Do you want to answer questions about your current products? Your talking points should keep the presentation focused and add value for your viewers.

Consider a Co-Host

If your brand utilizes micro-influencers you should try collaborating with them during one of your live streams. Using influencers is a great way to advertise your brand and increase viewers on your next live stream. If your brand does not work with influencers, think about bringing on different employees to talk about an upcoming promotion or new product. Occasionally going live with a co-host will add some variety to your content, and keep followers interested. Your brand’s followers, as well as the employee or influencer’s followers, will receive notifications at the time of the live stream; this will increase awareness on the day of the live stream. 

 

Implementing these practices in your next live stream will help make the experience more enjoyable for you and your audience. A successful live stream will require some planning, but once you have a strategy in place you can relax and have fun interacting with your followers.
