Instagram Launches Web Profiles

Dec 2012

Social media has many caveats.  With frequent updates and resurfacing content, social media changes rapidly.  Be sure to keep up on the most pressing and intriguing issues to help you master the art of social media.  Using social media is one thing but using it well is the key to online success.  Stay updated and stay informed with the latest social media news.

Instagram launched Web profiles in the first true attempt from the photo-sharing service to provide users with a more complete version of user identity accessible through the Web. In essence, it’s most everything you know about your profile page from your Instagram mobile app, but available on the Web.  This comes at no surprise since Facebook now owns Instagram.

Pinterest is making the news once again. After rolling out secret boards and website verification, the company introduced a series of free tools and services for businesses and professionals in all industries, including bloggers and public figures. Users can now upgrade their existing accounts to business accounts, and the beauty is that it only takes a few seconds to complete.

Your social media manager does much more than you think.  The job doesn’t entail playing around on Facebook all day. Sure social media is free, but when you ask your social media manager why people pay for free services, you’re sure to set them off.  In fact there is a whole list of things you probably should refrain from saying to your social media manager.

A privacy notice that’s been virally spreading on Facebook, supposedly protecting one’s personal details and data from unauthorized copying, is fake. The notice started spreading a few days after Facebook posted its new privacy guidelines, announcing it would let users comment on proposed changes to its governing documents, but not vote. Don’t be fooled.
