IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:
Pinterest unveiled a Google Chrome browser extension today that turns your boring “new tab” pages into a daily dashboard with an oversize Pinterest pin. Meaning, every time you open a new tab in Chrome to search the web or go to a website, you’re greeted with a pinned photo that fills the window. The extension, called Pinterest Tab, runs in the background when you use Chrome.
Facebook is looking for more feedback on the ads that users choose to hide in hopes of figuring out what ads you actually want to see. The social network said Thursday that it’s updating the News Feed ad-hiding tools to find out why users don’t think certain ads are relevant. Now when you hide an ad plopped in your feed, Facebook will prompt you to answer why.
Twitter raised $1.8 billion in the convertible bond offering it announced earlier in the week, up from the $1.3 billion it planned to raise as the deal met with robust demand. Out of the total proceeds from the offering, Twitter will use $112.3 million to pay the cost of hedges intended to offset any dilution from eventual conversion of the notes.
