LinkedIn has recently undergone some major display changes. The site has changed not only the look of the individual profiles, making them more like a social networking site, but also completely revamped the look of company pages as well.
If you haven’t created a LinkedIn page for your company, now is the time to do so. If you’ve already created one, then you definitely will want to update your page.
Here are just a few of the new features your company page now has:
Banner Image
The biggest change is the awe inspiring, Facebook-like banner image that appears at the top of the company page. This is the place for you go to all out. LinkedIn had previously maintained a somewhat dull look so that its professionalism remained as the main focus. However the site now gives you the opportunity to add some style and personality to your page, so use it! The banner image should reflect your company and can be similar to your Facebook business page cover photo. Make it eye catching, yet make it reflect your company in a positive and professional manner. The size of the LinkedIn company page banner image is 646 x 220 pixels.
New Home Tab
The home tab has also changed. Instead of having your company information buried within the page, it’s now visible right at the top. Your Products (or Services) and Careers tabs are now front and center, below the banner image on your company page. This is where you get to express your business to consumers. It is import to fill these sections out precisely and completely now that they are so readily accessible. Don’t be afraid to get creative with the products or services that you create. Think outside of the box. They don’t have to be products and services that you offer in the traditional sense. With these changes, your company page now allows for a little bit more social interaction than before. The goal is to get visitors interested, and become familiar with what you do.
