Two team members at KWSM Las Vegas office were recently promoted for their consistent hard work and demonstration of our agency’s core values.
Since Bri and Dalia were hired on the same day two years ago, it was only fitting that they were promoted on the same day as well. Brianna Zambrano has been promoted from Digital Marketing Strategist to Senior Digital Marketing Strategist with a specialty in Public Relations, and Dalia Grelin officially dropped the “Junior” to become a Digital Marketing Strategist with clients of her own!
To honor this exciting milestone, we interviewed Bri and Dalia about their new roles and what they see on the horizon.
Here’s What Bri Had To Say About Becoming a Senior DMS And Diving Into All Things PR.
What are some of your new responsibilities as Senior Digital Marketing Strategist?
“I am now responsible for fielding media requests for all of our clients, managing media lists for press releases and press digests, and sending out releases. These are all things I’ve been doing behind-the-scenes for a couple of months now while I got my feet wet, and it’s been really exciting to see the results come in.”
When was the “spark” of your PR interest?
“One of my clients is really big on finding unique blog and quote placements for their VP and CEO. When I started working with their team, I spent a lot of time looking for new publications and networking with reporters and influencers to land features for them. I credit this as the starting point that inspired me – I want to see how I can help achieve the same level of success for all of KWSM’s clients.”
What part of PR do you enjoy the most?
“I really like the immediacy. It’s always happening ‘right now’ and if you don’t act fast, you could miss a great opportunity. It’s so rewarding to get ahead of the curve, pitch your client’s expertise, and see their name in a feature or a news article that helps their company shine.”
What is special about KWSM’s PR efforts?
“I love that PR at KWSM is so strategic and goal-focused. It’s not just about getting the client’s name out there – it’s about finding the right placements that will bring in the right leads or the right attention to help the client build beneficial connections.”
What are you most excited about in this new role?
“I’m excited to learn more about our agency’s clients and see how I can make an impact. To prepare for this role, I’ve already been getting to know our current and incoming clients and looking at them from a different point of view. If this is just the beginning, I can’t wait to see all that’s to come.”
Next, Dalia Shared What She Learned As A Junior DMS And How She Plans To Make An Impact In Her New Role.
What are some of your new responsibilities as a Digital Marketing Strategist?
“I’m going to be doing a lot of the same tasks I was doing as a Junior DMS, but the weight of those responsibilities is changing. Essentially, the training wheels are coming off and I will be leading client accounts, managing social media and blogging, and coming up with campaigns! I’ll also be able to work with and guide Junior DMS’s and Junior Copywriters who will help with my client accounts.”
What are you the most excited about in this new role?
“While there are a lot of aspects to look forward to, I think taking juniors under my wing is what I’m most excited about. I learned a lot in my previous partnership with Brianna (when she was a DMS and we worked together on client accounts) that I think will help me become a great DMS and grow my leadership skills.”
What would you go back and tell yourself when you started at KWSM two years ago?
“I would say something like:
I’m so proud of you for putting yourself out there even though it was scary – because it is SO worth it. Don’t ever be afraid to say what’s on your mind or to reach out if you need a little help. Also, don’t ever stop shining, because that’s one of the best things you bring to the culture at KWSM.”
What was the biggest challenge you overcame while working to earn this promotion and how did you overcome it?
“My biggest challenge was overcoming self-doubt. I can be confident at times, but I also tend to be a bit of an overthinker. I’ve grown to become more patient with myself and strategic in my recommendations, and practicing that every day with different clients and situations helped me get out of my head. That’s made me a better digital marketer and also a more confident person in general.”
What are you ready to tackle first as a DMS?
“I felt spoiled getting to work with such a great partner over the last year, but it’s time for me to spread my wings and work on my own to really get into the DMS role. It’s something I knew was coming eventually, so I’m ready to dive in and show that I’m capable of anything!”
Bri and Dalia, congratulations on your new roles. There is no denying your passion, positivity, perseverance, tenacity to learn, and support for our team. Thank you both for the ways you have helped bring success for your clients, and for the ways you make KWSM such an awesome place to work.
