In the News: Instagram Cracksdown on Influencers That Don’t Disclose Commercial Partnerships; Facebook and Snapchat Add New FeaturesThese days it’s all about transparency. In the news this week, Instagram works on uncovering Influencers that are not disclosing partnerships.

Instagram Gets Strict on Disclosing Commercial Partnerships

After a recent investigation by the UK Competition and Markets Authority, Instagram has decided to protect their users by ensuring that influencers disclose commercial relationships within their posts. They are working on tackling this challenge by adding a new prompt that would require influencers to confirm whether they’ve received incentives to promote a product or service before they can publish their post. They also are working on developing a new algorithm that detects potential advertising content and alerts the business about platform rules.

Facebook Adds New Features For Messenger

Facebook recently updated Messenger to include rooms, collaborative video viewing, a new customizable emoji response bar,  personalized stickers and color gradients for threads to make the app more fun. In addition, users will now have the option to change the color gradient tone on their messenger logo. Facebook states “Our new logo reflects a shift to the future of messaging, a more dynamic, fun, and integrated way to stay connected to the people you’re close to.” These features also give users the ability to make the experience using the app their own.

Snapchat Adds Song Clips

Snapchat has recently launched its new Sounds function which enables users to add song clips into their Snaps before or after they record their snap from a list of specific songs. To add sound, select the Sounds tool (with the music notes icon) on the right side of the Camera screen and choose a track from the Featured Sounds list.
