Exploring LinkedIn Premium

LinkedIn is a social media channel that’s known as the world’s largest professional network. Its mission is to connect the world’s professionals to make them more productive and successful. You can use LinkedIn to find the right job or post a job for users to see. You can join colleagues, classmates, and friends and connect with your community.  Here at KWSM, we utilize LinkedIn daily!

LinkedIn has a free membership plan, but it also provides the option to upgrade to a LinkedIn Premium account. With a free membership, you are able to engage in basic networking activities. Premium, however, gives you more specific access. The Upgrade is split into four categories- Career, Business, Sales, and Hiring. We’ve done the research for you and summarized each of the four upgrades:

Career

For someone looking to get hired, you are able to get in touch with hiring managers by directly messaging them with inMail credits. You can also see who has viewed your profile in the last 90 days and how they found you. Premium gives you access to see how you compare to other applicants and access tools such as salary details while browsing jobs.

Business

You can utilize the Business upgrade to grow and nurture your network. Premium gives you the ability to find and contact anyone on LinkedIn, even if you aren’t connected. Premium Business also allows you to see who has viewed your profile in the last 90 days. You get exclusive insights into over 350,000 companies on LinkedIn to keep track of competitors and view trends within a specific industry. You have the ability to view unlimited profiles, as well.

Sales

Sales Premium unlocks sales opportunities. It allows you to start conversations with prospects, even if you aren’t connected. You can get insights on your accounts and leads, such as job changes and company growth, as well as save them. You also have the ability to see who has viewed your profile with unlimited people browsing, just like the other Premium upgrades.

Hiring

If you’re looking to hire talent, Premium can help you find great candidates, faster. You have access to contact talent directly and build relationships with prospective hires.

So is LinkedIn Premium worth it? It depends on how frequently you use it and how you want to utilize it. Seeing the benefits of a Premium upgrade may also take time. If you still aren’t sure, we recommend building your profile with a free membership and exploring what’s already available. LinkedIn also offers a free month-long trial of Premium, so you can decide what works best for you!

Social media has a 100% higher lead-to-close rate than outbound marketing.

Do you need to start marketing your company on social media, but aren’t sure how to get started? Or maybe you’ve been posting content, but can’t seem to get the results you want.
