3 Ways to Avoid Using Third Party Services to Post Your Social Media Content

At KWSM, we typically suggest that you do your best to stay away from posting your social content through automation and third-party services.  While it may be convenient, it could be doing you a disservice in the long run. It’s better to be live and active on your social media, and a platform such as Facebook may organically favor your post more if it knows you are posting directly through their channel.

We understand that life can get busy, so posting live on social can be difficult. At KWSM, we’ve gathered some tips that may help you maintain a live presence on your social media channels without the overwhelming feeling that can come along with creating content every day.

Have a Plan

A great way to have your posts ready to go each day is by having a plan ahead of time. Instead of spending time every day worrying about what you’re going to post, we suggest creating a weekly calendar with all the content you plan on sharing for that week. While creating your content calendar, set aside some time to research ideas and current events that your followers may find useful or interesting. You can also plan your photos ahead of time if you are scheduled to do something that week that you would like to share on social; maybe someone from your company is attending an event or your company is holding a party for a special occasion. If you plan ahead, you won’t need to worry about scrambling last minute to brainstorm something to post.

Stick to One Channel

It can be overwhelming to post and consistently engage with your audience on multiple channels. This is especially difficult if you are trying to keep the content you share on Facebook different than what you may post on Instagram or Twitter. If you find yourself struggling to find time to keep active on social media, consider cutting down to just one or two channels. It may be more efficient to focus on one platform that resonates the most with your audience and your brand’s purpose.

Schedule Through Facebook

You may have days where you are too busy to post live; maybe you’re traveling or busy in meetings all day. One suggestion we have for you is to schedule your posts through Facebook. This way, you are still using the channel directly to post, so Facebook is still more likely to favor your scheduled content organically than it would for a 3rd party service.
