The Facebook page is consistently swishing tournament-related postings that are reaching approximately 4,000 people per post with thousands of likes and shares. The team’s catchy hashtag, #UnitedWeZag, has found itself trending on Twitter with several thousand followers, some notable, cheering on the Bulldogs.

University of North Carolina Tarheels

No stranger to the NCAA tournament, the North Carolina Tarheels Men’s Basketball Team is a crowd pleaser on Twitter. The Twitter account does a great job of building team spirit and fan momentum by looking forward and celebrating with a throwback to Coach Dean Smith’s first NCAA tournament championship victory, which was retweeted nearly 900 times.

With 45.4 thousand followers, the Oregon Ducks Men’s Basketball team is making a fast break on Instagram. It’s vibrant green and yellow colors, coupled with images of the team working together on and off the court, creates a powerful flow and captivating visual story that keeps its fan base coming back for more. The team scored a slam-dunk with fans by using Facebook’s live video feature to capture the team’s arrival to the Final Four stage.

The South Carolina Gamecocks Men’s Basketball team is shattering backboards on Twitter. One successful strategy this team is using to foster a stronger connection with fans is tweeting behind the scenes photos. The team is also incorporating video, which is a smart way to get the attention of followers who have the video autoplay setting enabled. The team is also leading a full-court press on Facebook by celebrating fans in photos and video. The page’s most recent video received 2,500 likes from fans, 216,000 video views, and nearly 3,500 views.
