Creating Social Media Routines

Social Media Reboot, 28 day cleanse, katie wagner social mediaKatie and I just completed a 28-day cleanse.  For 28 days, we ate nothing but whole foods prepared and cooked by us at our home.  No alcohol, caffeine, dairy, gluten, added sugar or processed foods.  Just the good stuff – lots of fruits, veggies, grains, nuts and oils.

At first, it was hard.  It’s amazing how limited you feel when you cut those items out.  And, it’s amazing how much you crave certain things while you are on the cleanse.  For me, it was ice cream, and chips and salsa.   But after about a week, things got better.  A lot better.  I had energy all day long. I slept great.  I felt light and healthy.  By the end, it was hard to imagine what it was like to not feel that way.  Or why I would ever want to eat those things again, if it had that much of an affect on me.

And that’s exactly how creating a social media routine for your business should be.  One of the most difficult parts of having a quality social media presence is consistency.  Are you posting every day?  Are you responding to comments and questions?  Certainly creating content and knowing what to say are difficult, but that often becomes easier the more you show up and post.

So that’s why I am challenging you to a 28-day reboot of your social media.  Make a point every day, for 28 days, to simply post one thing to your primary social media account.  Set a reminder every day if you have to and don’t ever skip it.  When that alarm goes off, take 15 minutes and go to your Facebook page, for example, and post something that will add value to your fans.  That’s easy, right?  It’s only 28 days, and only 15 minutes each day.   You can do anything for 28 days, and that is my challenge to you!

The result?  By the end of 28 days, you will start to see a more engaged audience, and will have created a routine for the social media presence of your business.  But also, and more importantly, you will have questions about how to do it better.  And when you do, you can visit our other blog posts, watch our tip of the day videos or simply comment below and I will be sure to answer them for you!
