IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:
Pinterest has announced the arrival of buyable pins, which will allow users to buy the products featured in their favorite pins from within the app itself. These pins will be marked with a blue price tag, and users will even have the option to use the site’s price filter to hone in on just the right Pin.
Instagram also is launching ads with “Shop Now” buttons and other messaging that link outside the app. Not only does this open the door for allowing users to take marketable action, but there’s a new API that lets marketing partners automate the advertising process.
Facebook is making some news of its own by finally allowing users to share GIFs on the platform. The feature works with GIF links, not GIF uploads, but is a step in the right direction for those who want to bring some life to their images.
