Atlanta is Open For Business | Is Your Marketing Strategy Ready?

Apr 2020

Georgia is one of the first states taking part in reopening businesses and starting the journey back to normalcy after the COVID-19 outbreak. On Friday, April 25, 2020 Georgia governor Brian Kemp allowed some nonessential businesses to open their doors.

Businesses still have to adhere to guidelines laid out at the state and federal level. Barber and cosmetology salons have four pages of standards they must meet in order to qualify for reopening, and restaurants, gyms, and other businesses have industry-specific guidelines of their own.

If your Atlanta business is opening its doors under the new order, you will likely face a rigorous uphill climb to return to a healthy level of business after being closed for nearly a month.

In addition to adapting your physical space for day-to-day operations under the new guidelines to safeguard your customers, clients, and employees, it’s time to look out how business operations need to change as well. In all of this preparation, it’s easy to overlook an important piece of the puzzle  – your marketing strategy.

Here are some marketing tools to consider during your transition back to normalcy:

Have your services changed to meet the current needs of your customers/clients? If so, it is essential that you make this clear to your audience! Remember, your website is likely the first place people are going to learn more about your business. It’s the hub of your content marketing strategy, and it needs to be easy to navigate, up-to-date, SEO optimized, and eye-catching if you want to up your chances of bringing in new leads.

Messaging & Communication

Adapting your messaging to meet the current climate is critical. Depending on your industry, this may be a time to be more educational and less “pushy” in converting leads or vice versa. It’s important to analyze your business goals in this season and make sure you have the messaging in place to accomplish them.

Content Marketing

Now is a great time to utilize digital marketing resources (blog posts, video, social content, newsletters, etc) to connect with and educate your customers.

As your target audience begins to transition out of isolation, it’s time to create and begin implementing strategic campaigns that will get your business ahead of the competition and position you to hit the ground running. Content marketing is one of the best ways to build brand awareness, reach new audiences, and let them know about new services, special offers, and the precautions you are taking to keep them safe.
