If you have a website, there is a good chance you are using Google Analytics. If you do not have an account, you need to create one right away.
Google Analytics supplies you detailed web traffic reports about your website. (And it’s free.)
Assuming that you are already taking advantage of Google Analytics, there are plenty of tools that you can use to help you use the program more efficiently.
Below are my three favorite Google Analytics tools:
WordPress Plugins
If your website uses WordPress as its content management system (CMS), then you are in luck because you can easily add Google Analytics to your website using a variety of different plugins.
Google Analytics By Yoast is an excellent plugin that helps you track all of the inbound traffic to your site and even monitors internal links that direct traffic to other domains.
Google Analytics Dashboard for WP is a handy plugin that will display your Google Analytics reports right on your WordPress dashboard. This plugin allows you to get a basic overview of your traffic without ever having to log in to Google Analytics. It updates in real-time and inserts the latest tracking code in every page of your site.
Visual Data
We all learn and process information in different ways. If you happened to be a visual learner, a tool called Cyfe will help convert raw Google Analytics data into colorful graphs to help you visualize your web traffic.
They also help track data from social media channels and email marketing campaigns.
Email Marketing integration
If you are consistently sending out an e-newsletter or want to track the efficiency of an email marketing campaign, then you will want to link your email-marketing tool with Google Analytics.
Most email marketing platforms will allow you to monitor traffic coming into your site from the links in your newsletter or email campaigns. You can find and enable Google Analytic tracking under the “Tracking” or “Preferences” tab in your email marketing account.
This will allow you to track clicks from your campaign all the way to a particular purchase or email sign up on your website.
