The Importance of Effective Landing Pages

Creating a website and crafting an effective website are two very different things. At KWSM, we strive to create a website that our clients love, and develop one that is effective,  generating the interactions our clients need to be successful in their field.

One element of a website that determines these interactions and the corresponding results is the use of landing pages. Landing pages serve as previous real estate that lead to effective conversions, whether that is filling out a contact form, scheduling a consultation or downloading a lead magnet.

What are 3 keys to effective landing pages?

Robust Information

Your potential customers want to be informed about what it is that you can offer them, as well as how it can help them achieve their goals. To do so, you need to provide that information on your service pages, which includes:

  • What benefits does your product or service provide?
  • What are your differentiators? (aka, what makes you different from your competitors)
  • What is the expected outcome that your clients and customers will experience as a result of partnering with you?

All of this information can be potentially overwhelming though, so breaking it up and adding supporting images or graphics keeps them engaged.

“In order to really capture your audience, you need to differentiate yourself from the competition. If you have unique features or benefits, highlight them, and do it as high up the page as possible. We know the first few seconds someone arrives on your landing page is crucial, so featuring them within the hero section of your landing page is a great way to get your visitors engaged and wanting to learn more.”

Credibility Pieces

Potential customers want to know that they can trust you to do what you say you’ll do. It helps if you can demonstrate your skill or success.

Credibility pieces provide the assurance that your prospects need to encourage them to convert. Elements on a landing page that convince your prospects include testimonials, case studies, results and awards. Think of items that prove that you are who you say you are, like a passport or a driver’s license, when it comes to your business.

FAQs

Including a frequently asked questions section gives your potential leads even more information about your services that are broken into “bite-size” pieces to provide even more clarity.

What are some questions you have found other potential customers, or even current customers, repeatedly ask? The goal is to remove any obstacles or speed bumps that would discourage your potential customers from wanting to reach out to you by providing the information that may have slowed them down before it can slow them down.
