March 8, 2023, marked the 7-year workiversary of KWSM VP of Strategy & Client Relations Jeff Soto, as well as the third annual “Jeff Soto Day.” In 2020, we created this special holiday to celebrate and thank Jeff for his years of leadership and loyalty to our team and our clients.
Each month, we set aside time during Team Celebrations to shout out words we believe describe all team members who celebrate workiversaries that month to show just how much we appreciate them.

Jeff’s Leadership at KWSM
Jeff excels in his role as the VP of Strategy & Client Relations. He leads clients through our initial strategy and onboarding process, and checks in with them regularly as we move into the marketing execution phase of our work together. He also serves on KWSM’s leadership team to help make decisions that guide our agency toward continued success and ensure that our team is constantly challenging our creativity and staying on the cutting edge of digital marketing.
Helpful Content Initiatives
Currently, Jeff is spearheading our agency’s pursuit of mastering Google’s new E-E-A-T algorithm and other aspects of the platform’s Helpful Content Update, both of which play a significant role in determining how our clients’ websites will rank in Google Search results in 2023 and the foreseeable future.
“For years, we’ve seen small businesses being outranked by powerhouse media aggregators that use their domain authority to write about topics they clearly do not have expertise or experience in,” Jeff says when asked about his passion for this current project.
“These media outlets do not have more legal experience than our law firm clients, financial experience than our banking, lender, or foreclosure clients, or consumer experience than our B2C clients. Audiences need to see more than quick listicles that skim the surface of a problem, challenge, or sticking point. They want to see that others have experienced the same roadblocks as them and that there is a solution that matches their situation. KWSM has always been a brand journalism-focused agency, so E-E-A-T is in line with the content philosophy we have espoused for 13+ years. It’s great to see Google bring it to the forefront, and we are seeing a push for content that enriches lives and doesn’t just rely on SEO keyword stuffing.”
Leading our E-E-A-T initiative is just one example of the many ways Jeff has shown himself to be a wealth of knowledge for KWSM, and we have all gained invaluable insight as a result.
Unwavering Support for Our Team
Jeff was one of the first people I got to know when I started working at KWSM three and a half years ago. On my third day in the office, he invited me to be his partner in KWSM’s first-ever Mentorship Program Showdown. At the time, I was nervous that my newness in my role would make me an unfit mentee, but Jeff encouraged me every step of the way, and we actually ended up winning the competition! This spoke volumes to me about Jeff’s ability to lead, coach, support, and encourage our team, all of which I have continued to see during my time at KWSM.
