The world of social media is always renewing itself in some way or another. With frequent updates and resurfacing content, it can be hard to keep up with on a daily basis. It’s important to stay informed of the current issues and trends so that your social media presence stays relevant. Using social media is one thing, but using it well is the key to online success. Stay updated and stay informed with the latest social media news!

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:

Twitter is changing the way it charges advertisers. Currently Twitter receives payments if any of its users interact with sponsored ads. In the future Twitter will allow advertisers to specify exactly how they want to spend their money. For example, only clicks to a certain landing page on a website will be billed.

Foursquare has overhauled its old features. The new Foursquare app will be recommendations based instead of location sharing based. The app redesign was developed to rival Yelp. A new app called Swarm has taken the place of the old Foursquare for social location sharing.

Facebook has started splitting its messages feature off to a new app. Facebook Messenger app will  soon replace any messaging capabilities in the current mobile app. The change will only affect iPhone and Android apps. Messaging capabilities will still be available within the Facebook app on iPads and the Windows phones.
