Facebook's Tab Engagement Fails

Facebook’s tab engagement has begun to fall since the induction of the timeline feature.  Tabs on Facebook pages are seeing approximately 53% less engagement since Facebook rolled out the timeline.  What does this mean for business?  Its difficult to say whether tabs are going to be payed less attention to or scrapped completely however one strategy to combat this decline is to spend more time and energy on the Facebook wall.  Businesses might need to make a shift and take those countless hours of perfecting the tabs on their page and use those to convey their content and their message via their wall.  One reason to support a lack of engagement is that tabs are less visible now with timeline.  Read the whole story.

Twitter has shut down the feature allowing users to share tweets directly to their LinkedIn pages.  This feature however still works the other way around.  LinkedIn still allows posts to feed into your Twitter account in order to reach that audience.  Michael Sippery, a Twitter product manager, addressed users detailing that its simply a change in Twitter’s strategy and that Twitter is constantlt trying to provide a core Twitter experience through a consistent set of products and tools.  Read the full article.

Facebook has changed your profile information, whether you wanted it changed or not.  Now on your profile, courtesy of Facebook, you have an @facebook.com email address.  It’s also set to be viewed publicly on your page.  However luckily there is a quick fix for this, that is if you don’t want to advertise your new domain name.  Who knows, some of us might like the new look.  Steps to change it back.
