WHAT’S RELEVANT THIS WEEK IN SOCIAL MEDIA

The world of social media is always renewing itself in some way or another. With frequent updates and resurfacing content, it can be hard to keep up with on a daily basis. It’s important to stay informed of the current issues and trends so that your social media presence stays relevant. Using social media is one thing, but using it well is the key to online success.  Stay updated with the latest social media news!

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:

Instagram has released a new Color and Fade tool to its custom filtration options. The Color tool tints the highlights or shadows in your photo with a splash of yellow, orange, red, pink, purple, blue, cyan or green. The Fade tool allows you to bring a quiet tone to your photos by softening colors.

Twitter has announced that it will be retiring the Discover tab, instead showcasing trending topics under the Search page of its mobile applications. These trends will be accompanied with a short description once you’ve clicked on the Search bar.

YouTube is launching a paid service for ad-free viewing later this year, which content creators (specifically those who rely on paid advertising) will not be able to opt out of. YouTube’s content creators will have no choice but to accept the new terms, as deny them will cause all videos to be set to private. The service is expected to cost viewers $10 per month.
