How You Can Support Orange County Businesses During the COVID-19 Outbreak

Do you have a favorite restaurant or small business you frequent in the Orange County area? Since they have likely been forced to close during the coronavirus pandemic, we thought it would be helpful to spread some positivity and gather some ways that you can help support your favorite Orange County businesses during this time of crisis.

Shop Local

Many businesses in the Orange County area have come up with new ways to encourage their regulars and other customers in the community to continue to buy their products. Restaurants are offering free curbside pick up or “no contact” delivery and putting together family meal packages. There are also companies that have temporarily changed course and are now developing their own hand sanitizer or masks to sell to the public. If you need a night off from cooking or to restock on essential supplies, look to your favorite local restaurants and small businesses first.

Raising Canes, Which Wich, OC Wine Mart & Deli, Chipotle, and Seven Seas Roasting Co. are just a handful of the many local businesses in Aliso Viejo (near our KWSM Orange County office) that are offering temporary specials. Not seeing specials for your favorite restaurant online? You can also check third-party delivery services for “no contact” delivery to your doorstep!

Even if you are unable to shop locally, you can also support businesses in the Orange County area by contributing to their online marketing efforts. By tagging and sharing specials that businesses may be offering on their social media channels, you can help support these companies without needing to leave the comfort of your home. When you share a post on Facebook or Instagram with your own social media following, you can help increase the number of potential customers for that business. Furthermore, if you have your own business, you can form a relationship with other companies in the area by promoting each other’s specials.

Support Online Business

Are you a member of a gym or other organization that has been forced to move their business online? Instead of freezing your membership, explore any classes or meetings that these businesses are now offering digitally. Your favorite gym coach (check out what So Cal Bootcamp is offering online to their members!) may be providing their classes remotely to help members stay physically active. Your weekly art instructor may be holding Zoom meetings in place of an in-person class. You can even book online video appointments with a medical provider using South Coast Medical Group’s Telemedicine, all from the comfort of your own home! So, before freezing or canceling your monthly memberships, check to see if these businesses are offering any online material or ways for you to continue to enjoy your extracurricular activities at home.
