Facebook is a business’s best friend, but it can be a fickle friend at times. Anyone who has spent time in Business Pages knows Facebook is always changing or experimenting with something new. Keeping up with the algorithm changes alone is a full-time job (literally…we do this for a living). Before you let Facebook get you frustrated, take a look at these tips – you’ll be working the system in no time!

Give people a reason to visit your page.

No matter how strong your Facebook game is, you will never show up in every single person’s newsfeed every time. If you can’t bring your content to the people, you need the people to come to your content! By hosting regular contests, offering promotions, hosting livestreams, and creating an overall sense of community, you can keep your audience interested – and coming back for more.

Mix it up.

When it comes to content creation, complacency is your enemy. Shake things up constantly, sharing videos, infographics, links, photos; you name it. Facebook wants to show people what they like, and we all like different things. By mixing things up, you have a much better opportunity of connecting with new audiences.

Use Video!

For the nine-millionth time…you must use video content in your strategy if you want to stay relevant in the social media world. Upload native videos when possible, rather than sharing YouTube video links. And go live! Facebook Live is still an underutilized feature by Pages, which seems silly considering that users spend three times more time watching Live Videos than non-live videos.

Tag Other Facebook Pages

Take the time to tag relevant business pages in your posts. It seems simple enough, but so many people don’t take the extra 2 minutes it takes to tag someone and in doing so, lose out on potential reach. When you tag other businesses, it notifies them directly, greatly increasing the odds that they will then turn around and engage with that post. And remember, the more users that are interacting with your post, the more likely Facebook is to show that post to more people.

And last, but certainly not least, create quality content!

This is probably the most important tip we can give you. So many brands are looking for a quick trick to work the Facebook algorithm in their favor, but the fact of the matter is there is no secret to social media. Create good content that people are interested in and the users will come – it’s not complicated!
