WHAT’S RELEVANT THIS WEEK IN SOCIAL MEDIA

The world of social media is always renewing itself in some way or another. With frequent updates and resurfacing content, it can be hard to keep up with on a daily basis. It’s important to stay informed of the current issues and trends so that your social media presence stays relevant. Using social media is one thing, but using it well is the key to online success.  Stay updated with the latest social media news!

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:

Users that want to dig up a tweet can now look in the place where most internet users search for everything else: Google. Tweets will start showing up in Google search results as soon as they are posted to the social network. Many of the details are vague, but we can expect to learn more in the months leading to the release in late 2015.

In another advance for the Twitter platform, users can now promote a tweet directly from the analytics dashboard. Through this push, the social network aims to capture potential revenue from small and medium businesses that spend substantially more time measuring organic reach than seeking paid solutions.

On another corner of the internet, Tumblr has been updated with a search filter to show users specific types of entries. Options for revisiting past content include options to browse text, photos, quotes, links, chat, audio and video, a major update from the times when users could only search posts from the month prior.
