IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:

Advertisements for mobile apps can now play automatically on Facebook when accessed from mobile software. Although video ads have been available for mobile apps before, the new video content is intended for adds to persuade users to install mobile apps. Facebook is also introducing new ways of prioritizing videos most relevant to users on specific platforms or with particular apps installed.

Snapchat announced it is allowing anyone to create their own filters via a new Community Geofilters page. Artists are asked to choose where they want to make their filters available, and then upload an image to use as an overlay. Users are presented with a few design guidelines and have the option to download a template to get started.

As seen with Instagram, Twitter has added new photo filters to its iOS and Android apps, along with new options to change the strength of the filters. Filters are available after adding a image to a tweet by tapping on the photo’s thumbnail.
