Baseball is synonymous with summer. We often enjoy our summer team outing on the boat, but this year it was all about balls and strikes.
Most of our days here in Orange County are sunny and 75 degrees, and nothing screams summer like a good old fashioned baseball game. In case you didn’t know KWSM has three offices in Atlanta, Georgia, Las Vegas, Nevada, and Orange County, California. Part of what makes KWSM such a great place to work are the quarterly team outings where we all put work aside for an afternoon and bond.
In the past, it’s been many things beyond boating. We’ve done bowling, ax-throwing, painting, cooking, escape rooms and more. This year, we set our sights on the Big A!
Our trip was easy, as we caravanned to Angel Stadium of Anaheim. Although we are in the middle of the summer, it wasn’t as hot as anticipated. We had seats above the right-field where we could sunbathe and catch all of the action. We cannot confirm or deny that the seats were purposely purchased adjacent to the beer garden. All of us indulged in some sort of treat, including popcorn, peanuts, and nachos!
The Angels may not be the best in the MLB, but it’s always a treat getting to see Mike Trout hit a home run regardless if they lost 9-1 to the Detroit Tigers. It’s also really refreshing to spend time with team members away from our day-to-day roles and see our work family in a different light. It brings all of us together to share activities and stories outside of the Batcave – what we call our office.
Our company has grown so rapidly that these outings are frequently a first for some team members. Having our new team members experience our outings is important because they can see we are a family outside of work too, and that life is not all about email and completing projects.
Recently our Atlanta office even took a trip out to Lake Burton for their summer fix!
